Project Highlights

The Solae is a corporate office and soybean research facility located on the CORTEX Campus in mid-town St. Louis, adjacent to CORTEX One. The $45,000,000 project is comprised of three distinct, self-supported buildings totaling 165,000 GSF. The east building is a 4-story, 70,000 SF office building with secure on-grade parking below its building footprint, and on one façade there is a 4-story, vertical tensioned fabric sunshade. The west building is 4-story with 80,000 SF for their research and development laboratories. The south building is a 15,000 SF, 2-story Pilot Plant with concrete tilt-up panels at the perimeter spanning the 25’ story height. This Pilot Plant is used to test small-batch product production. Interestingly, during construction the contractor could not obtain domestic rolled steel column sections quick enough, so the proper steel columns for all buildings were fabricated in China and shipped to St Louis.
